Lunarpages Review

February 26th, 2012 by George

LunarPages was founded in the summer of 2000 when Add2Net Corporation expanded its hosting offerings to include shared hosting. Add2Net had previously offered large scale managed and unmanaged hosting services successfully for the past 3 years. Their customer service and rock solid hosting platforms has created their customer base and has encouraged them to continue growing.  They are dedicated to providing the customer with exceptional service.

Price Value

LunarPages has three web hosting plans, 2 of them Linux and one of them Windows. When I used their web hosting service, I was signed on to their “Basic Hosting Plan”, which comes with 5GB of web space, 400GB of data transfer, free domain, unlimited MySQL databases, spam protection and more for only $6.95 per month. They also allow you to host up to 10 individual web sites under the same package.

Reliability

LunarPages offers industry leading infrastructure built with the best equipment. Some of their equipment includes Dell, Sun, and Cisco. Their datacenter is located in Los Angeles, California and provides the highest level of security. They also have a multi-homed BGP4 routed Gigabit network. This means if one Internet connection goes down, the fail-safe ones will pick up, increasing uptime. They use power Dual Xeon servers, with a minimum of 4GB of RAM.

Control Panel

Like many other hosts, LunarPages makes use of cPanel control panel. It comes bundled in with Fantastico, which allows you to install up to several dozen scripts with a single click of the button. You’ll be able to administrate your entire account from the cPanel, from e-mail to your web statistics.

Customer Service

The level of customer service that LunarPages gives its customers is what has helped them become one of the industry’s leading web hosts. They offer 24/7 customer support via their helpdesk, live chat and toll-free telephone support. Whenever you’re in need of help, their support team is always there to help you.
